For those who plan their weekend based on the weather forecast this past Vermont Weekend should be a lesson for you. This was a classic case of the forecasters getting it wrong.
Stowe was supposed to get a wet weekend. Some folks got there early Friday to get in a ride in case Saturday and Sunday were washed out. Friday was a great day for
the drive down and those who got out for a cycle had some nice warm sunny
weather.
Saturday morning was sunny and the rain forecast was now postponed to later on in the
day. Out we went for a day’s cycling in the famous Vermont hills. A few groups
did the long 2 gap challenge ride. A few groups did the gourmet tour. A few
others stayed closer to the hotel.
The 5 à 7 was a great way to unwind after a hot and hilly ride. In fact a bit too good! Still when we are challenged, we dig deep. We all found room for the dinner!
Now for those who got down early, Sunday hopefully was going to rain and allow for a day of rest. Not to be – it was nice and sunny. A good time was had by all. Many thanks go to Rick for organizing the event and the weather. Could you let me know who you ordered the weather from?
Linda
