The CCB has been organising cycling weekends in Vermont at least since 1979. We have stayed in various locations. Stowe was our base from 1987 through to 1991. In 2007 we decided that it was time for us to return.

We discovered a really luxurious hotel, where they are familiar with the accommodation of groups of cyclists. There were over one hundred and ten club members on the weekend last season. It was enjoyed by all. So, we decided to return there again this year.

The Inn has two heated swimming pools, several Jacuzzis, saunas, a small lake for canoeing, kayaking, etc, a games room, a fitness facility, a comfortable lounge and dining room, and comfortable rooms, each with two queen sized beds, and a TV (useful for checking the weather forecasts). What more could you want? Carrie, our hostess at the Inn is an avid cyclist

The area is in the midst of beautiful scenic grandeur with many cycling opportunities. There is the challenge of Smugglers Notch, which can be tackled from the steep Stowe side, or from the steady gradient Jeffersonville side. There is a 125 Km circuit via Morrisville which takes in our favourite lunch break stop – the Highland Lodge by Caspian Lake, There is an imperial century (160 Km) tour. Of course, there shorter tours, and there is even a cycle path in Stowe. Our hostess at the Inn will be pleased to suggest tours to suit your capabilities and mood.

If this is not enough, and you want some variety there are several challenging hikes within reasonable driving distance – Mount Mansfield, the Stowe Pinnacle, the Camel’s Hump.

Stowe is about 220 Km from Montreal. It is about a 21/2 hour drive, depending on traffic & customs. You will need your passport, and some U$ currency. Medical insurance coverage for the USA is recommended
