Club Cycliste Beaconsfield

You may have noticed that we have been removing scheduled rides from the calendar as we await to get a green light for group rides.  We still don't have a definite date yet, nor do we have a definite update on solo cycling limitations.  CCB will provide an update when definite information becomes available.  In the meantime, we will be starting our CCB clinics using Webex, which allows you to join our clinics from your home (with voice and video).

Our first clinic will be a RideWithGPS tutorial on May 20, given by Past-President Francois Durocher.  It covers the basics of how to access and use CCB's route maps as well as tips and tricks on how to optimize your GPS use. Remember, on any club ride, ALL riders are expected to bring with them a map (electronic or paper) so that they can follow the designated route.

CCB RideWithGPS clinic

The topic of this first clinic of the season appears quite popular based on feedback from the Facebook Private Group Poll. In order to serve you better, we intend to hold a second session at a later date. More information on this second session is to come.

A future clinic will be a presentation on eBikes, with the intent of helping familiarize CCB members with what types of eBikes there are and where the eBike industry is currently going.

We take this opportunity to remind all 2020 registered CCB members to please join our CCB Official Private Facebook Group (launched in April 2020) for the latest information from the CCB. We are slowly transitioning members from the CCB Facebook Public page to the CCB Private page group so we may ’speak directly' with our members about club related topics.

Please note the function of each CCB communication tool:

  1. CCB Website FORUM for members only, managed by Aaron Afilalo, Communications Collaborator
Articles and information from the CCB and from its members.
  2. CCB Facebook Public Page, managed by Duane Hebert and Sue Filion and others as Communications Collaborators, for public audience specifically to attract new members and enlighten everyone on cycling in general.
  3. CCB Official Private Facebook Group for CCB Members Only, managed by Ann-Julie Comeau, François Durocher and Jan Wilk, for communications from the CCB and the members. Also the official repository for guidance or alerts from the CCB (beyond CCB emails).
In the meantime, continue to enjoy your solo rides.
