Club Cycliste Beaconsfield

Fellow CCB Members,

Due to covid-19, this has been a cycling season like no other. Following the authorities’ health guidelines, we had to delay the start of the season, had no opening meeting, had to forego social activities and had new cycling rules.

While the majority of members chose not to participate in any of the rides, others did and experienced the joys of club-organized group riding with fellow members.

Because of these unexpected conditions that fell on all of us this past spring, your CCB Executive has decided to extend your current membership through to the end of the 2021 season. This includes both the New and Returning members of 2020. A footnote to this is that the originally planned $25 subsidy in 2020 and 2021 for the 50th anniversary club jersey will only apply once (i.e. you still will have a $25 subsidy by the time 2022 comes, but not a $25+$25=$50 subsidy).

There will still be a CCB AGM this fall, most likely in early November. Attendance will be via a web application. While the agenda and date of the meeting along with the details on how to join the meeting will be passed on later, some volunteers are needed to fill vacant positions on the executive.

In the meantime, I believe that come next spring, people will have realized that cycling as an outdoor activity is probably one of the safest ways to stay healthy, active and secure.

I’d like to add that in spite of these unique conditions in this CCB season, I have participated in almost all the scheduled Wednesday and Sunday rides and enjoyed each one of them. I want to say thanks to the members (both returning and new members) who attended these rides and made it fun.
